That's the conviction Sarah has spent over 20 years living professionally. As a printed textile designer for womenswear, pattern and colour were never separate decisions — every design was developed through its colourways, every colourway tested against the design. Coral for summer, navy for spring, sage for calm, bold red for the ones who wanted to be seen.

Why we started
Sarah has always been driven by three things: fashion, art, and a deep love of floral design. Pattern & Pixel is where all three came together.
But the real reason we started is simpler than that.
We believe the right art in the right colour does something to a room — and to the person in it. It lifts a Monday morning. It calms a Sunday evening. It makes a rented flat feel like a home. That's what Sarah and Mark set out to create — and it's what drives every design they make.

How we work
Every design starts with a single element — a flower, a leaf, a geometric form — either sketched by hand or drawn digitally. From there, Sarah develops it through her textile design lens, drawing on over 20 years of print expertise to refine the repeat, adjust the composition, and get the balance right.
Then comes the colourway process — the part that sets Pattern & Pixel apart. Each colour version is built individually, tested, and refined until every colourway is as carefully considered as the last. The coral as resolved as the lilac. The bold as balanced as the soft.
